In the 1920's and 30's Contratto champagne-style wines were exported to all parts of the world. Export was booming, then during and after Word War II the winery changed focus and primarily sold the wines in their national market. Today, after 80 years have passed, the Contratto sparklers are being reintroduced to the world. Giorgio Rivetti relies largely on his existing partnerships and distribution. Step by step, it is Contratto's goal to reenter the export arena, making Piemontese champagne-style wines known, respected and loved internationally again.
